The History of Proplant Tyre Services
In early 2020, our founder Matthew Baldwin was working as Head of Operations at Commercial Tyres Off Highway. Together with his team of skilled tyre professionals, Matthew was responsible for providing class-leading plant OTR tyre services across a diverse range of heavy plant machinery. With over 20 years of specialist knowledge and expertise, they had earned an enviable reputation with hundreds of customers.
The opportunity arises
In 2017, the business was acquired by a global tyre manufacturer and the Off Highway business continued to flourish under Matthew’s leadership. However, in late 2019 the new management team decided to focus solely on road-based commercial vehicle fleets. Accordingly, the Off Highway team was notified that they would cease trading in early 2020.
Independent tyre professionals
With robust loyalty and dedication to both the valued customers and the team of trusted tyre professionals, Matthew established Proplant Tyre Services on the 2nd of April 2020. With a mission to provide unprecedented levels of service to every operator of heavy plant machinery. As an independently owned business we may only be five years old – but we benefit from a lifetime of OTR tyre and management experience.

Proplant Tyre Services are proud to invest to keep at the forefront of OTR tyre services. Our new custom-built Scania has just joined our growing fleet of specialist service vehicles. It’s comprehensively equipped with the correct and calibrated tools for every job – plus it achieves Direct Vision Standard three star compliance. This, together with EU6 compliance, permits operation within Greater London and the ULEZ Ultra Low Emission Zone without additional charges. We go above and beyond as standard.
